Who we are

The Tampa Bay Diaper Bank (TBDB) was founded in 2018 by a group of concerned members through The Junior League of Tampa( JLT). Since its inception, the bank has grown exponentially from 100,000 to 1,000,000 diapers distributed annually. With a focus on ensuring the sustainability of the Diaper Bank’s services, the JLT decided to launch the bank into its own nonprofit.

TBDB serves to combat diaper need within Tampa Bay by supplying diapers to programs in our community. Diaper need is the lack of a sufficient supply of diapers to keep a baby clean, dry, and healthy.

Run by our volunteer members, the Diaper Bank collects, purchases, and packs diapers for our community partners across Tampa Bay. Our partners place monthly orders and receive diapers at no cost to distribute to their clients.

Mission

We educate and engage our community to help break the cycle of poverty by collecting and distributing diapers to families in need through a collaborative partnership network.

Vision

We envision a Tampa Bay where babies, children, and their caregivers have access to essential diapers.

Values

We value Compassion, Dignity, and Collaboration.

Why Our Community Needs A Stand-Alone Diaper Bank

Ensuring Sustainability

Since the bank’s founding in 2018, we have seen unprecedented growth from 100,000 diapers to 1,000,000 diapers distributed annually. By creating a stand-alone nonprofit, the Diaper Bank will have a team focused exclusively on its success and sustainability.

Investing in Growth

Diaper need is a growing issue in the Tampa Bay area. By creating a stand-alone nonprofit, the Diaper Bank will become more agile allowing it to expand its partnership network and distribution channels to more extensively combat diaper need.

Historical Precedent

The Junior League of Tampa has historically used the develop and launch model for projects. By creating a stand-alone nonprofit, the League is following successful historical precedent for gifting a project to the community.

Meet The Board

Our Board's Role in Supporting the Diaper Bank

The TBDB Board governs the operations of the Diaper Bank by ensuring alignment with our Mission and Vision at all levels of the organization. Through strategic planning, policy administration, fiscal management, and operational continuity, the board serves as both trustees and stewards on behalf of our partners. Their expertise ensures we meet critical filing deadlines, stay organized, and execute our launch goals effectively.

The vision was to bring together individuals from diverse sectors of our local public and private communities to create a well-rounded, dynamic board that can address the multifaceted challenges we face. By combining their varied expertise, our board guides the Diaper Bank to build and strengthen a robust partnership network, ensuring the efficient distribution of diapers to those in need.

“Running a nonprofit takes not only time and vision, but also expertise and ability to meet filing deadlines, organize, and execute. [Our] vision was to bring together individuals...that represented diverse parts of our local public and private sectors...”
